Because of this special bond between ferrets and humans, Misty has decided to contribute what she can back to these wonderful creatures. She has opened her home and heart to homeless ferrets in the hopes of finding them a forever home to a loving owner.

Her rescue operation is located in Eden, NC. She is among one of the three rescue organizations in this area. There are also two other shelters located in North Carolina. They are Dook-N-Dance located in Jacksonville and Ferret Guardian Rescue Haven located in Statesville. In addition to these two organizations there is also a local ferret club called the Triangle Ferret Lovers (TriFL).
